Schedule: 3,2,2 Continuous Schedule
Shift: 12 hour shifts 7-7:30 (most likely nights)
Primary Purpose of Position: Perform steel flat-sheet packaging lithography printing tasks and services to support the plant's overall manufacturing plans and objectives as directed.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Perform various manual or mechanical production functions by operating, adjusting and repairing KBA Metalstar steel flat-sheet printing press equipment to meet customer specifications.
- Perform and assist in preventative maintenance on KBA Metalstar steel flat-sheet printing press production equipment as required.
- Perform on-the-job training and development of assigned personnel.
- Conduct inspection of in-process materials and in-process and finished products.
- Responsible for replenishing supplies, materials, parts and tooling required for assigned area.
- Perform record keeping duties as required under the direction of management.
- Communicate pertinent information to next shift.
- May assist with the disassembly, overhaul and rebuilds of production equipment.
- May perform troubleshooting on production equipment as required.
- May be required to stage and maintain packaging materials and follow correct packaging/banding procedures.
- Work in a manufacturing environment.
- Comply with established job safety practices, policies, and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for safe performance of the work assignment.
- Support and follow the guidelines of the food safety system.
- This position is exposed to occupational hazards, including but not limited to, high noise levels, physical obstacles, exposure to chemicals, etc.
- Must wear appropriate safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing, and footwear in appropriate areas and follow safety practices.

Requirements
- Broad training in a related field usually acquired through high school education, General Education Development (GED) or through equivalent work-related experience.
- Job related experience for 1-2 years minimum.
- Complete required on-the-job and classroom training, including SPC.
- Ability to identify product defects.
- Ability to perform basic mathematic calculations.
- Strong mechanical skills.
Working knowledge of the following areas:
- Printing background desirable (we print on steel flat-sheets, which are later assembled into a steel aerosol can at other Ball Metalpack plants).
- Mechanical troubleshooting (hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.).
- Use of micrometers, calipers, etc.
- Simple hand tools.
- Data entry.
- Statistical process controls software.
